Who is my audience?

Writing

For the past several months, I have been taking an online writing course called “Find Your Writing Voice”. I take one night a week off from everything else to work on it, and it’s been enlightening.
One of the first assignments was to write a poem exploring the influences of one’s childhood. Mine is published here.

The present task is to find out a few things from the people who read my writing. If that is you, I wonder if you would mind helping me?

Here are the questions, you can answer any or all, in as great or little depth as you please.

1) How does my message impact you?

2) What questions do you have?

3) Where do you feel most connected to what I say?

For those of you who respond, thank you in advance. I don’t know who reads this blog unless there is a comment or “like”, so am not sure who I’m writing to. But that’s the idea, to find out.

I look forward to your candid comments!

The Author

Imperfect follower of Jesus, wife to the greatest guy in the world, Mom to five wonderful grown children, and happy Nana to their ten littles. Having grown up in the Deep South, I retain a love for all things Southern. I became an amateur cultural anthropologist during a significant time living in SE Asia and still get to travel the world on mission and for fun with my sweetheart. I love asking questions, cooking for my family, helping women breastfeed, walking in the woods, eating biscuits, and having deep conversations about things that matter. On my wishlist are reading more, playing the piano, painting watercolor scenes, figuring out my awesome camera, and writing to soothe my soul.

This poem took me back to my Southern roots. Loved it. I could see, taste, smell, and, most of all, feel what your childhood was like. I love the common thread, “I am from…”

Holly, I follow your blog because you are someone I know and respect. You are a wise woman who has many very interesting life experiences. Your writing makes me thing about similarities or differences in my own life and gives me a peaceful positive feeling. You are a wondeful role model.
